This first flush joongjak ("medium beak") first flush (earliest spring growth) whole leaf green tea was machine harvested mid-April, then wilted, steamed, rolled and dried. These tea leaves are loaded with theanine (amino acids) providing a mellow, sweet taste to this whole leaf tea. Roasted brown rice is then added to the processed green tea. This single estate tea comes from the fertile volcanic soil of the cool eastern slope of Mt. Halla on Jeju Island, located off Korea’s southern coast. Teas Unique is dedicated to bringing the finest organic, single estate, artisan, whole leaf and powder teas from Korea to the international market. We import directly from the farmers who produce our teas and strive to bring the most delicious pure teas from all of the major growing regions of Korea to our international customers.
Teas Unique First Flush (first machine harvest of the season) Korean nokcha (green tea) blended with roasted brown rice. It is similar to Japanese Genmaicha. Harvested mid-April from a single estate tea plantation on Jeju Island, off Korea's southern coast.

Wonderfully fresh taste of vibrant green tea with the mellow taste of roasted rice. Delicious!
I will tell you up front, that this was purchased as a gift for my wife. She has tried a number of the "Teas Unique" flavors, from their Korean tea sampler pack. Of them all, she really likes this one most. This is the second time I've ordered this particular flavor, and she says it's the best. My wife is Korean-American, and says this tea is just like the green tea she used to drink in Korea! Based on her comments, I must recommend it.
