Traditionally Korean groom travels to the home of his bride on the back of a pony, bearing a live goose, a symbol of fidelity because it takes only one partner in its life, and gives it to his new mother-in-law as a sign of his faithfulness to her daughter. Nowadays, Koreans substitute the live goose with a wooden one as this. These two wooden wild geese symbolize a happily married couple who remain faithful to their partner their entire lives.

I bought these traditional Korean Wedding Ducks for my son and his new wife. I was worried because at the height of wedding season it was hard to find them, but this retailer had them in stock when no one else did. The quality is excellent and the shipping took less than two weeks so I got them in plenty of time for the wedding. The heads are also articulated so that they can look away without moving the body which is a nice feature. These Wedding Ducks are a terrific wedding present. They allow a couple to show their relationship status (blissful, miffed, angry, etc) to visitors so that everyone knows where they stand. Whenever I travelled on business my wife would put our ducks on separate shelves of our bookcase to show our separation. Usually they were together kissing, but sometimes I would find that I was in trouble when her duck was turned away. Hey, guys are dense! It gave me a chance to make it up to her without the endless questioning "what's wrong honey?". Get these ducks, they are a great way to keep a communication channel open between partners who sometimes feel they can't use words.
